Mobile computing, information systems and the police
The police forces in the UK have many officers who are 'mobile workers' - their work involves community patrolling and traffic monitoring. They need information on the move and a variety of strategies are employed to present that information or to provide access when the information is needed. This presentation will present some case studies that illustrate the problems and issues faced in this context, within an activity theory framework.
